Auction 8. Thies & Schmid Gun Auctions (Timed Auction)

Our 8th auction with over 150 lots of carefully selected firearms will be held as a timed auction.

The catalogue is online.

The bidding function is activated and after registration you will be able to place sealed bids on our website, which can only be viewed by you.

From 05 July 2024, 11 am the lots will automatically expire one after the other at intervals of 2 minutes.
If bids are placed within the last 60 seconds, the time frame will be extended by 1 minute every time a new bid is placed. Each bidder thus has the opportunity to react to the last bid submitted.

In addition to some early firearms that are not subject to any gun license, the offer includes a large selection of selected, primarily German military ordnance weapons from the 1st and 2nd World Wars, including two G/43s, a Mauser G/41, a whole number of rare Luger 08 pistols as well as rare weapons made for the German troops by FN, Radom, Astra, Beretta, etc.

Among the military ordnance weapons of the German Empire (1871-1918), the extremely rare rifle of the German South West Africa police from 1900 and a selection of fine examples from almost all years of production of long and short Luger 08 pistols stand out in particular.

The starting prices of this auction were set at extremely moderate levels. You can safely enter sealed bids of any amount, which will only ever be used by the auction programme to outbid the next lowest bid by one bid ingriment.

Auction 6 Thies & Schmid Schwäbische Waffenauktionen December 16, 2023

The 6th auction of the auction house Thies & Schmid GmbH will be held on December 16, 2023 at 2 pm (central European time) and will offer sa carefully picked selection of fine and important historical collector's firearms of the 18th - 19th century as well as rare military ordnance weapons of the 1st and 2nd World War.

In Order to place bids you have to be registered on our website. If you are not registered yet please do so by pressing the sign "my account" or "login" on the top of this page.

After login you can leave absentee bids or register for telephone bidding on our website, just open the lot and press the blue sign below the reserve price and follow the instruction.

For live - bidding during the auction with our own livestream please register by pressing the blue sign on our homepage and follow the instructions.

Among the historical weapons are an important double-barrelled flintlock rifle from the personal possession of the French King Louis XVI and a pair of presentation pistols made by Jacques - Louis Arault in Versailles around 1765/74, dedicated by the then Dauphin (later King Louis XVI) to his page.

Furthermore, we offer some very interesting Prussian and Austrian military ordnance weapons from the period of Frederick the Great, respectively Empress Maria Theresia.

One of the highlights of the firearms requiring a permit is the extremely rare carbine 98 from the Erfurt production of 1903 for MG troops in cal. 8 x 57mm IS (cartridge with pointed bullet) serial number 1106.

Some very rare sniper rifles of the 1st and 2nd World War also belong to the numerous top items of this auction.

As a special highlight of this auction, we are offering an MG 08 by Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken Berlin (DWM) from the Great War and some very rare fully automatic submachine guns from World War II. These weapons may be legally acquired in Germany with the appropriate special permit from the BKA (Federal Criminal Police Office) and may remain in Germany.

Export is also possible on presentation of the relevant licenses and permits from the importing country.

Welcome to our newly designed website with the just released auction catalogue of the 5th auction of Auktionshaus Thies & Schmid GmbH as well as our online shop with approx. 200 firearms for direct purchase (gun license or permit required)).

The 5th auction will be held as a "Timed Auction" and will contain over 300 lots of interesting military collector's firearms as well as civil and sporting firearms.

The auction will run with automated sealed bidding from 23 Oct - 8 Nov 2023.

During this time you can place sealed bids which will only be used by the system to the extent necessary to outbid the next lower bid by one step.
